1. Laboratory of Structures (LABEST)

The laboratory is located in an area of 1,160 m² with a reaction system for testing large-scale structural elements with a resistant capacity of up to 300 tf. For data acquisition, the laboratory has 4 modules of the ADS 2000 system, each of them with capacity for 32 channels. The laboratory does not yet have a crane, but Eletronorte has been providing support, always lending whenever requested a munck truck for transportation and assembly of experiments in heavy elements, and a process of donation of this truck is in progress until the end of 2018. The laboratory also has 14 linear displacement transducers; 2 double acting hydraulic cylinders, 1 cylinder with solid shaft with 300 tf capacity and 1 with cast stem and capacity for 60 tf; 1 electric pump capable of driving up to 4 cylinders; 2 sets of load cells and process controllers, and 2 notebooks for field use.

2. Laboratory of Applied Computational Mechanics (LAMECA)

It has a room with 50 computers with the following characteristics: Intel Core i5 processor; 8GB of RAM, 1TB HD and a 23-inch monitor. This lab now has licenses for use on all computers of the following software for classes and research: EberickV9 (AltoQi), LumineV4 (AltoQi), HydrosV4 (AltoQi) and QiBuilder AltoQi). The other room has a Workstation used for processing of numerical models that require higher computational power. This workstation consists of 2 ZEUS processors, with 24 processing cores, 126 GB RAM, 1 TB HD and two NVIDIA graphics cards with a total of 4 GB. It is used in complex computational modeling, required for analysis with finite element software such as DIANA, MIDAS FEA, ATENA and ANSYS, which UFPA has definitive licenses.

3. Laboratory of Civil Engineering

It is installed in a building with a built area of 3,455 m². It has several equipment, such as: mixing equipment; table flow table; apparatus of test of dimensional variation, linear retraction and extractor of measure of adhesion of the mortars; concrete dosing room, where 1 large concrete mixer is used with a total volume of 600 L and 1 small concrete mixer, with a volume equal to 130 L; mechanical testing room for characterization of the physical and mechanical properties of chemical, ceramic and metal materials with 1 press for up to 300 tf, 1 universal machine for up to 200 tf and 1 press for test of mortar test bodies; room of tests of aggregates composed by greenhouses and mechanical sieve square; and 2 wet chambers.

4. Laboratory of Granular Materials Handling

The main equipments are: 1 Jenike type shear cell, which allows obtaining data on the flowability of granular materials; 2 flow boxes for flow visualization, one of small size for materials with a particle size of less than 12 mm and a large one for materials with a particle size of less than 100 mm; a belt conveyor bench for flow transfer runs tests and high performance computer with software license for analysis with the Discrete Element Method.

5. Laboratory of Pneumatic Transport

It allows the realization of gas-solid transport tests in both vacuum and pressure mode, in two independent circuits, fitted with a standard bag filter. In these circuits, it is possible to test typical flows of mineral processing industries present in the region, with Albras, Alunorte and Dow Corning, and to analyze solid waste disposal conditions, such as wood, among other applications.

6. Laboratory of Turbomachinery

Installed in an area of 1,000 m² already has a wind section of test section of 600 x 600 mm with a maximum speed of 30 m / s. Two water circuits are being installed, one for free flow tests, which will allow testing with hydrokinetic turbine models and another on a larger scale, which will allow the testing of turbine models of Tucuruí and Belo Monte hydroelectric power plants.
